At either category of seating, whether you are in Standard seating or in Marriott Wailea Luau premium seating, our evening will begin as you are greeted with a beautiful fresh flower lei and seated at your table.
Once seated you will have the opportunity to take part in a unique experience as you roam around the grounds and visit with the local artists where you'll get to learn about the rich knowledge of the Polynesians. Expert skills that were once a part of the daily life of the ancient people like fishing, gathering, gift giving, lei and tapa making (cloth made of tree bark), will be closely demonstrated, showcasing the great knowledge and skill of the Polynesian people.
Your all-you-can-eat buffet dinner consists of a multi-cultural array of flavors from Hawaii and the South Pacific, with dishes like fresh Mahi Mahi with lemon butter, imu baked kalua pig (pig that is cooked in a traditional, Hawaiian underground oven), teriyaki steaks, shoyu chicken, various popular local side dishes like garlic fried rice and Molokai sweet potatoes, and sweets like coconut haupia, key lime squares...the list is too long to mention here! This is a feast you have to see to believe!
Oh yeah did we mention your Wailea luau also includes an open bar? Yes, that's an open bar, including mixed cocktails, Mauii's famous Mai-Tais, Blue Hawaii's, Chi-Chis, Pina Coladas, Wine, Beer and of course, non-alcoholic tropical juices, sodas and more all served table side by your own friendly server!
The Te Au Moana luau show offers three acts, creating a performance unlike any other. Act I tells the legendary story of Maui, whose heroic acts would have a great impact on those who followed after his time. Dances from Tahiti, Tonga, and the Atolls of Cook Island demonstrate the relationship between all Oceania follow in Act II; and in the final act, the island of Maui is celebrated with contemporary songs and hula, ukulele performances, a vibrant torch dance, and finally, an adrenaline-rushing performance of the Samoan fire knife dance.
