Road to Hana Tour

Half the Fun of your Hana day is actually getting there! Your journey features 617 turns and 56 one-lane bridges and is an all day affair. The lookouts, waterfalls, trails and wayside parks on the way are the experience. Hana definitely has things to do but beyond Hana there is so much more!

Your day starts with Valley Isle's customized van picking you up at your resort or condominium. You will be cruising in comfort and style with an air-conditioned 12 passenger van, featuring large individual reclining captain chairs, and panoramic windows that allow for the enjoyment of breathtaking views. With an elevated view, you will get to see more than you typically would by taking the journey in a rent-a-car, not to mention what you will learn from your guide, who will be sharing their knowledge of the island's history, fauna, flora and more! You will also get to enjoy stops that most likely go unnoticed by those driving their rental cars.

Once in the town of Kahului, before starting the winding road, you will enjoy a stop where a Hawaiian continental breakfast will be served. A delicious buffet picnic lunch will be provided in Hana as well (vegetarian plates available upon request). You will also get to enjoy complimentary beverages throughout the whole tour.

Soon after leaving Kahului and still early on in the trip, you will get to see the surfers strut their stuff at Maui's world famous north-shore break Hookipa, and witness the many waterfalls that are visible along the journey. You will see the Keanae Peninsula, which was created from a large lava flow from Haleakala Crater in the tiny town of Keanae, view the beautiful Black Sand Beach of Wainapanapa, various sights in Hana Town and Ranchlands, and even visit the great Charles Lindbergh's Memorial at Pala Pala Hoo Mau Church, and past Hana, you will have the option to take a refreshing dip into one of the waterfalls on the Road to Hana.

Our Kahului-based commercial caterer carefully prepares and packs your group’s picnic based on individual needs (vegetarian, gluten-free options) giving greater flexibility to stop when and where it’s best. Throughout the day the there will be many options to savor the local flavors from roadside stands and markets. Your health and safety is of utmost importance to us so your guide will share tips about washing tropical fruits and stop at only reputable places.
